Ecology invites you to review and comment on a draft Cleanup Action Plan (dCAP), draft State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Checklist, and draft Public Participation Plan (PPP), for International Paper at the Port of Longview in Longview, WA. This plan focuses on cleanup activities in the Maintenance Facility Area (MFA) part of the site.
Draft Cleanup Action Plan (dCAP) This dCAP was prepared by the Washington State Department of Ecology with the International Paper Company. It has been prepared to meet the requirements of the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA). It describes Ecology’s proposed cleanup action for the site and sets forth the requirements that the cleanup must meet.
Draft State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Checklist Ecology follows SEPA during site cleanups to find and evaluate large, negative environmental impacts that could result from a proposed action.
Public Participation Plan (PPP) The goal of the PPP is to get the community involved during this process. It outlines how decisions are made and how and when people can comment on these decisions during the cleanup process.
Ecology will consider all comments and may change the documents based on them. All documents ‘out for public notice’ are finalized after the public comment and review period ends.
We will hold a public meeting if 10 or more people request one.
