Soos Creek Fine Sediment TMDL

We invite you to comment on the draft Soos Creek water quality improvement plan. This draft water quality improvement plan addresses excess fine sediment resulting from human activities, as indicated by benthic macroinvertebrates monitoring. Benthic invertebrates and other aquatic organisms, like salmon, have similar needs for healthy waters to thrive, meaning that if they aren’t doing well, other aquatic life that relies on the same habitat is jeopardized, too.

The goal of this water quality improvement plan, formally known as a Total Maximum Daily Load, or TMDL, is to identify water quality improvements needed to reduce fine sediment loads to levels that are healthy for fish and other aquatic life in the Soos Creek watershed
